What A Great Day
Today was absolutely AWESOME!!! I couldn’t be happier with our first day of having two worship services and meeting in the Youth Zone. The room was about half full in the first service and was over 80% full in the second service. We estimate that there were about 285 people in the two services. This is exceeds our former worship totals for the past several weeks by over 50 people. WOW! People really stepped up. And, the greatest news is that we had at least 18 visitors in our second service.
I again say a great big THANK YOU to our awesome Staff (paid and volunteer). You guys have made this transition a joy. Even though there are a few “bugs” that need to be worked out, I can’t believe how smooth everything was this morning. We will make some adjustments each week as time goes on!
One thing to consider is the attendance in the 2nd worship service. If that keeps up and grows, we may need for some other people to come to the early service because most of our guests and people with children will come to the second service (need to have plenty of seats available for guests). We will monitor our attendance each week and keep everyone updated concerning our progress and any changes that need to be made!
I had several people to comment how much more intimate it felt to worship together in this room. Even people who sat close to the back said how much closer they felt as I was sharing God’s Word. This is exactly what we were hoping for. Once people see how wonderful it is to worship in such an intimate environment, we will want to do this from now on. As our attendance grows, we will plan to have a 3rd service (probably at 6:00PM) because it is so much more intimate meeting in this room. We also want to encourage more people to “hang out” in the atrium (glassed-in area at front of building) so new people coming in and people passing by on the road will see that there is “life” at Washington Avenue! We are ready to welcome all people who are SEEKING the HOPE found in Christ! The Harvest is plentiful and Greenville, SC desperately needs a spiritual awakening.
