“All We Need is Love…”

This Sunday (February 3) we begin a New Series of messages that I believe God is going to use to bring healing in people’s lives. There is nothing more personal or significant in our lives than our relationships with people we love. The subject of LOVE is in some ways abstract and relative. You can ask 100 people this question: “To you, what is Love?” and you will get many different answers. Some people have been hurt the most by people who were supposed to love them the best. Our society reveals how many people view the quality of love by the benefit they get from it. In attempting to sort through the many variations of LOVE and how it affects every part of our lives, we realize very quickly just how complex is this thing called LOVE!

In this series of messages we are going to attack this complex topic called LOVE with a vengence. We are holding nothing back. People in our world are struggling with less than “abundant” relationships because of a misguided notion of what real LOVE is and how it should be expressed. Working through the various relationships we have is kind of like trying to Navigate a ship, submarine, or airplane through some dangerous places. Navigating a large vessel through rough seas requires state of the art equipment like a “Global Positioning System” or G.P.S. Recently some friends of mine got one of these sophisticated systems for their car. It is amazing how you can push a few buttons (onscreen of course) and find a restaurant or hospital or gas station!! The G.P.S. knows how to guide you to a destination because it always knows where you are.

In the same way God has a sophisticated system for guiding us through the many different complexities of our LOVE relationships. God has His own G.P.S. (God’s Positioning Standard) to guide us through the challenges of both receiving and giving LOVE. All of our relationships begin with a proper understanding of our LOVE for God and His unconditional LOVE for us. If we gain a proper perspective on this “Vertical” love relationship it will change our perspectives on our “horizontal” relationships!

For the next several weeks we are going to show how to apply “God’s Positioning Standard” (G.P.S.) to the relationships we have with our spouse, our children, our parents, our good friends, our work associates, school mates, neighbors, etcetera. Whether we desire to strengthen existing relationships, build new relationships, or mend broken relationships, God has the “coordinates” to help us get there! Come on and join us as we “Navigate Love” using God’s G.P.S.
