Adrenalin Rush
I have to be honest with you, I was sitting here getting my stuff together so I could leave the office and just had an “adrenalin rush” thinking about Sunday. Let me tell you, it is going to be incredible. I just previewed the video we will show that characterizes the TRANSFORMATION that is taking place in so many people’s lives and I couldn’t hold back the tears. People’s lives are being changed by God, right here at Washington Avenue!
After the past several weeks I just don’t even know what to expect. Last night I went in the youth room and there was a noticeable decrease in attendance from the week before. At first I was tempted to think, “here we go;” the emotions are fading and people will drift away. But, God kicked my rear end real fast. The music started and I got to hear one of the best vocalists I’ve ever heard! (yes I am biased and proud of her) I worshiped with the band. Then, I really have to tell you, Ricky Motes preached one of the best sermons I have heard in a long time. God used my BOY to speak directly to my heart. I have never heard Ricky communicate such powerful truths any better.
Then, the best thing of all happened — a teenage girl stepped forward and gave her heart to Jesus!!!!! And guess who was standing beside her? Sharon Jones! That girl just keeps bringing kids to church who keep getting saved. Way to go Sharon!
God showed me something very important last night. He is not nearly as impressed with crowds as He is with worship being Spirit-filled and His Word being preached by an anointed messenger. And, whether there are 13 getting saved or 1, heaven is having a party — and so should we! (By the way, Sunday is going to be a party! balloons and everything. You don’t want to miss it).
Guys, get ready to bring out the extra chairs. God is going to bring in the people to experience true, Spirit-filled worship and anointed Bible preaching. I expect someone new to be born into the Kingdom this Sunday! See you there!
One final note: Out of all the wonderful things that happened last Sunday, nothing moved heaven more than seeing Eryka publicly profess her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior! We need to have baptism ya’ll! Chris has a lead on a portable baptistry we can borrow so baptism may happen in our present worship center in a couple of weeks! I can’t wait!
