Good Stuff Coming

Our series on “Generosity” called “In God We Trust” has been received in the spirit and attitude in which we have presented it. We have intentionally repeated our motive of seeking to show people what God wants FOR you and not what the church wants FROM you! I have been blessed by the stories shared on our blog site (payitforward.cc) and those some people have shared personally. I had the opportunity to give some money to a person today who is in desperate need. I asked God to show me what He wanted me to do with the money I received and He did! I am praying for this person. Even though the money God gave through me will not come close to meeting all the needs, I believe it will show this person that God cares deeply about their situation.

While giving God’s money to His people was no doubt a highlight of this emphasis on Lifestyles of Generosity, trust me, there are some more exciting things coming. This Sunday, May 4, we are going to share some exciting plans for the future changes that need to be made to our facilities. We are living in a different world than when these buildings were constructed (30 and 40 years ago). In today’s culture, gathering places (or ‘hang out’ places) are important. People are gathering at coffee houses, video game venues, malls, restaurants, bars, etc. We are going to show you what can be done to bring our existing facilities up to date to meet our growing need for specific space.

Please don’t miss the services this Sunday! I was amazed when I saw the computer renderings of what we can do and I can’t wait to show them to you. I will be sharing these pictures in the message that is titled: “A Time to Rebuild.” Washington Avenue has a rich past that provides a strong foundation for a FUTURE greater than any of us can possibly imagine!

To close out our series on Generosity we are going to do something that I believe is going to have a huge impact on some special people in our fellowship and in our geographical community. On Saturday night, May 10, we are hosting our 1st Annual banquet for Single Moms. These are the unsung heroes who are teaching, training, and caring for our next generation of leaders. We are going to give them a night to remember! If you know of a Single mom who would appreciate a night like this, contact Lisa Freeman or call the church office and let us know who they are so we can get them an invitation in the mail. Also, ask Lisa Freeman how you can be involved.

Generosity is FUN! We are never more like our God than when we are GIVING!

  1. God is making a tremendous move at WAC right now and I can’t wait to see the outcome of a vision that was given to a man that actually listens. Thanks!
