Rambling
Hello. My family and I are in Charleston, SC visiting with some friends. We had the privilege of sharing in a 50th anniversary celebration today with the church we served for 3 years. The church is Highland Park Baptist in Hanahan, SC (that’s in North Charleston). It was great to renew friendships with some people who really made a significant impact on our lives. I praise God for the many lives that have been changed through the ministries of Highland Park and ask you to join me in praying for God to give them many more years of fruitful service.
We had a hectic day so I was unable to watch our worship service this morning. I just finished watching it and can’t tell you how awesome it was to sit here at 11:00PM and worship with my wonderful church family at Washington Avenue. Chris brought the message and Corey, the band and our technical people paved the way for the Word to be brought! WAY TO GO TEAM! We have the most awesome and wonderful staff! I just sat here thanking God for the people I get to serve with.
Well, we leave from here tomorrow and head North to Garden City where we will be participating in the Journey with our Student ministries. I can’t wait! It is going to be an incredible week. I ask you to pray for our group. We need safety for all the students and leaders; we need God’s anointing on the mission work we will be doing; and, ask for God to move in the hearts and lives of all who are there — students and adults.
I will be posting more regularly while we are at the Journey so you can have updates and more specific, current prayer needs. If I was as technically savy and slick as Chris and Josh I could send you some video. Hey wait a minute, Kala will be there and she can run techno-circles around those guys. Keep your fingers crossed that we will be able to send you some exciting video of what we are experiencing.
I missed seeing our church family today but am thankful for the opportunity to get away, knowing that the leadership would be prepared and anointed for their assignments today. Being away really makes you more thankful for what we have. I will write more tomorrow (Oh, wait, it’s already tomorrow — or is it today?)
LATER!
