Just wanted to say a quick hello to those who continue to check my blog. I have been a little “blog deficient” lately. This has been an incredibly busy 3 weeks! Since returning from San Diego we have been working very hard to get ready for our upcoming series in the Fall and get our “Connecting Points” organized and meeting. So, let me tell you about a few things that are coming up:

• In September we are doing a series of messages called “Living the Dream.” The focus of these messages is about the dreams God places in our hearts and the excitement of actually getting to live out these dreams. Most of the study is taken from the life of Joseph (Genesis 37-50). Check it out.
• Our “Connecting Points” will be getting back together beginning in September. Connecting Points are our small groups that meet in people’s homes for true Discipleship (discuss relevant topics with biblical application; build lasting relationships; minister when needed; provide a place for new people to enter our church; etc.) There are already about 7 established groups. If you are not already in a group, call the church office or sign up any Sunday at the Welcome Center.
• There is a huge Back to School party this Sunday morning during both worship services for children ages 4 through 5th grade. While the youth and adults are worshiping together, the children will be in the gym having a blast. Get your kids here and come enjoy some dynamic worship with us!

We are looking forward to a great Fall season. Get Connected to Christ and to a dynamic community of believers. If not here at Washington Avenue then find that place where God wants you to “plug in.” May God richly bless you is my prayer!
