Dreams
Nothing is more fulfilling and thrilling than living out our DREAMS. Dreaming is exciting stuff! Some of the things we IMAGINE ourselves doing are quickly dismissed because of the “REALITY” thing. But there are other things that are so much a part of our DNA that we never stop thinking about them. These are the DREAMS that God has programmed into our internal ‘hard-drive.’ These are the things that create discontentment even when, by all outward indications, everything is good in our lives.
A DREAM is based on something that does not exist in our sphere of reality but is very real in our subconscious mind! Basically, we SEE in our Imagination what no one else can see (unless of course we find others who share similar dreams). When God takes the time to INVEST His DREAMS into our imaginations, you can be assured that He is going to help us make the journey towards realizing these dreams. No matter what direction our lives may take; or what mistakes we might make; or how many times we get disappointed; these DREAMS will continue to motivate us until the day when we “LIVE THE DREAM!”
This month we are talking about the Life-Challenges involved in living out our dreams. Joseph was a DREAMER who faced incredible setbacks on the journey towards Living the Dream! I think God is looking for some Followers today who are risky enough to DREAM big. After all, as the late D.L. Moody said: “If God is your partner, make your plans BIG!” It is my hope and prayer that DREAMS will be uncovered and life-pursuits will be altered as God leads us towards the prize of living out these dreams.
Scripture records a time when Jesus walked on the water to get to his disciples who were in a boat. Peter asked if he could join Jesus and was given permission to get out of the boat. For a few steps, Peter experienced something that no other human being has done (or will do). Always remember that Dreaming requires us to get out of the boat and really trust God with our lives. Also understand that getting out of our boats is risky; requires faith; and can bring uncertainty. But, in the end, you will be glad you listened to the voice of God and stepped out of the boat!
Join us this month as we travel back in time to hear about a man who had great dreams; who faced intense persecution because of those dreams; and who finally had the opportunity to LIVE THE DREAM! For more information on Washington Avenue ministries, visit our website. (www.washingtonavenue.org)
DREAM ON…

The life of Joseph is one of my favorite! I am looking forward to God’s message this Sunday. Preach on!
