Incredible Weekend

Yesterday was another “God-Moment” in our ‘Main Event’ worship gatherings at Washington Avenue Church. God has been showing up in some unusual and amazing ways recently. Yesterday another grown man (at least in his 50’s) stepped out of the crowd and committed his life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It was another HIGHLIGHT for me to have the privilege of experiencing a Supernatural miracle of salvation. You could feel God’s power working in this new brother’s life as many years of pain melted away. This makes three grown men that God has given me the privilege of seeing commit their lives to Christ in the past three weeks! GOD IS GOOD!!!

They say when you get the Man right the family will be right. In addition to these 3 who have made sincere commitments to Christ, there are four other men whom God has recently brought into our church family. These guys are coming out of some deep “holes” that they dug for themselves and are making some great progress. God is restoring two of the families (with young children) in an amazing way. One of those families hosted our “Connecting Point” in their home last night. INCREDIBLE!

It occurs to me this morning as I sit here trying to regain my senses from a power-packed Sunday that ONLY GOD deserves the credit for these wonderful manifestations of His Saving Power! It also occurs to me how easy it is to interfere with what He is doing. I just want to be careful to stay out of God’s way as He continues to draw people to Himself. We will continue “Lifting up Jesus” and watching as He continues changing people’s lives.

I just wanted to share these PRAISES this morning to hopefully encourage any who may read this that, in the midst of unstable economics, ridiculous campaign tactics that do nothing but confuse the average American, and a future that could be bad, Jesus is still working in His World — through His church!!! In these days the church needs to be more available than ever to our world. I believe we will see God do some more INCREDIBLE things in these days.

As our Leader said: “The gates of hell shall not prevail against the church.” (Matthew 16:18) No matter what happens to the American way of life, the church will remain intact with God’s power provided until He calls for us to come Home. Let us preach, teach, worship, witness, and pray with more confidence and faith than ever because our God is going to show us great and mighty things!
