Get Wisdom
I can’t believe it is almost Thursday of another week and I haven’t stopped long enough to post something on this blog. If you are a “regular” please forgive me and thanks for keeping up with my ramblings.
I have to share just a little bit about our session with the adults in the Connection Cafe tonight. I mean we really had an anointed time together. God always draws the people into these sessions who need to hear about the subject that we are focusing on that night. Again tonight there were people there who normally don’t come and it was amazing how God used His Word in their life tonight.
We are studying the book of James together. I am trying to squeeze 8 sessions in about 15 weeks. Trust me, James is so rich with “Relevant” truth for our time that it will be hard to get it in (actually I don’t know how long we will be “mining” in this treasure chest). God is teaching us how to deal with our “situations” — you know, the kind of stuff that happens in our lives that escapes explanation. God says that we are to ASK for Wisdom when these things “HIT” us. Wisdom is when God GIVES us the ability to SEE our situation like He SEES it!
Get this: God doesn’t give us this wisdom because of who we are or what we do! Instead, He gives freely to His Children who ASK because that is His nature! He is thrilled to provide renewed insight into the “Work” that is being done through our trying times. We all LACK the WISDOM to comprehend when the unexplainable happens. Yet, when we cut away all our futile attempts to “deal” with it, we have a great promise waiting to be delivered upon — God says ASK for WISDOM and you will receive it. And you can be assured that God always delivers on His Promises!
So, are you struggling with something that just doesn’t make sense or a lingering pain that won’t go away? Or, maybe you can identify a difficult time that has passed but left you much different than it found you (in a negative way). In these and many other occasions, ponder on James’ advice in James 1:2-8. When your feelings don’t match up with what you believe about God it means you “LACK WISDOM!” Hurry and ASK God for it so you can arrive at the destination He intended when He allowed the testing of your faith.
Maybe you need this or someone you know needs to know these things. I just felt compelled to share what God powerfully revealed in His Word tonight. I love sharing God’s Word with those who demonstrate such a hunger for it.
Study forward — pursue more — enjoy the ride! Great Truth awaits the diligent Seeker!
