“Feel-Good Faith”

“I LOVE WHAT I DO!” Our current focus on the “DOWNPOUR” we desperately need from God has brought new life and energy back into my spiritual life. It’s as though some areas of my spiritual “body” were cut off from the blood flow causing me to lack spiritual energy. Through personal brokenness, confession, and repentance, God is opening up areas of experience with him that I have not felt in some time.

Now I know that our assurance, faith, etc. is not based on “feelings.” Trust me, it’s Monday, a day when I am completely exhausted and spent from Sunday’s assignments. If my assurance that God is with me was based on how I felt, I would stay in the bed all day on Monday because I don’t FEEL too saved! However, when God is opening up every avenue of experience to His Word, His voice, His blessings, etc. it’s way COOL to FEEL WHO He can be in our daily lives. My prayer times are more clear and inspirational; my sensitivity to language, pictures, etc. that offend God is heightened; my heart and mind are filled with  songs about God’s love, etc.

LET THE DOWNPOUR CONTINUE! Let’s throw away our umbrellas and get soaked!
